Zuzana, childcare provider in Brighton

Hello, my name is Zuzana. I am 44 years old, mother to 5 years old son. I live in Brighton. At the moment I am registering as a childminder but because it is a long process I would like to work as at home child- carer or babysitter.

I love working with children. I am caring, proactive, discrete with excellent communicative and childminding skills, reliable and trustworthy

Even though I was working for more than 10 years as an executive PA in a small technology company but I have more than 30 years’ experience working with children. I have a Master Degree in teaching and child psychology from Slovakia. I was babysitting my younger cousins and nephews from very young age. I worked as an au pair and nanny for 4 years in London, as a nursery nurse for more than 1 year in Brighton, a volunteer at our local Hertford Infant school and Scope charity. As a parent I have been frequently visiting local baby and play groups, libraries, parks and other children friendly settings. I constantly educate myself on the subject of child psychology and behaviour. I like reading latest news, blogs, websites, books and listen to educational and professional talks related to latest scientific finds in the field of education and child development.

I have a keen interest in working with children and parents in our local community. For example, as a parent I took a proactive approach and interest in the Hertford Infant school deducting my free time in numerous ways. Once a week I was helping children in year 1 with their reading. I also was supervising children on school trips to the local museum and a farm, helping with or organising various art projects in their preschool setting, fundraising money for the school at the fairs and cake sales, donating art material, toys, books and games through the year, taking active part during their international awareness week.

I have a keen interest in art and craft and multi skills – knitting, embroidery, weaving, painting, drawing. I am sporty and like playing tennis, bicycling, running, walking and exploring environment. I also love literature, books, reading, theatre, gardening.
