I am a passionate and determined young woman and I aspire to follow my dreams and reach my full potential as an individual. I consider myself an excellent team player that has the ability and confidence to work independently when required. I am a caring and supportive and am dedicated to the education, welfare and safeguarding of young people who strives to instil in young people a passion for learning and a determination to succeed.
I have numerous hobbies which I enjoy frequently. Firstly I am a confident cook and enjoy following a recipe and making my own. Whilst I am confident making main meals I enjoy baking a range of treat including gluten free, as I am a diagnosed coeliac. I have a vast knowledge of hygiene and food safety procedures as this was a requirement for past employment. Further to this I enjoy being outdoors and regularly exercise as I believe staying healthy is important. I enjoy many physical pursuits such as swimming, yoga and frequently use my gym membership.
In my quieter times I enjoy reading both for pleasure and or knowledge. For pleasure I enjoy a range of genres including fiction and non-fiction. When available I enjoy reading journal articles particularly centred around child development, psychology and special needs in education. My interest in this area is based on my own personal experience having a sibling who has special needs. I have always had a keen interest in the development of young people and how education is impacted by their needs; this reflected in my A-level results for psychology (B) and my current employment as a Learning Support Assistant.
Working for a range of employers has enabled me to develop a range of skills from managing time effectively, managing people, working in a team and presenting myself in a professional and mature manner. Furthermore I have developed strong communication skills both verbally and written and I am more than confident to converse with a range of people at all levels.
I am always seeking opportunities to extend and broaden my knowledge. I am currently completing a CACHE Level 3 in childcare and education and have recently completed a diploma in child behaviour, which I completed in my spare time and achieved a distinction. As I am always seeking opportunities to extend my knowledge I am more than happy to complete and NVQ level 3 or any qualification an employer may wish me to gain. Further to this I have a valid First aid certificate which I completed with a previous employer and is valid until the 26th June 2017.
I hold a valid UK driving licence with no penalty points deducted and have access to my own car, so commuting is not a problem.
