I completed my Modern Apprenticeship Program SVQ Level 2 in Childcare through Qualitas International Training Group
I completed my Emergency First Aid, Paediatric CPR and Child Protection Basic Awareness through North Lanarkshire Council. I passed my driving test first time.
I consider myself a hardworking, reliable and honest person. I have a positive attitude and willing to learn in any new environment. I have the ability to learn new skills quickly and use my common sense when doing tasks. I consider myself to have developed good communication and interpersonal skills when working with people. I work well both individually and within a team and have always enjoyed group work. I am computer literate and have good attendance and timekeeping records at school and work.
I left Veolia Water Systems September 2011 to go on maternity leave. I did not return to this work because my daughter was born with a hearing disability and I felt it would be more beneficial for me to spend quality time with her to enable her to reach her full potential.
Since my daughter’s birth in 2011 I devised a daily learning program at home to encourage interaction, movement, listening and sound. The program i set out included indoor/outdoor games songs, nursery rhymes, counting. This program has helped her DEVELOP HER listening and confidence skills that have enabled her to access a mainstream nursery placement. She has excelled in her nursery placement and looking forward to starting mainstream primary school in the near future. While my daughter was growing up i took up a part time casual job working with a family in the community. My duties were to pick children up from nursery/school and spend quality time participating in aftercare activities. This included swimming, outdoor/indoor activities, arts and crafts, baking, board games, singing and dancing including exercise program. My daughter was able to join in with these activities and this has helped her interaction with others as well as developing her group work skills. My Daughter is now 4 years 5 months she is very settled and doing amazing in her nursery school. I feel I am now ready to commit myself 100% and go back into the workplace environment that I enjoy so much.
