Laurie, childcare provider : Hillsborough

My name is Laurie Boyd.

I'm 23 years old with a Theology degree and a wealth of experience working with children and teenagers.

I'm looking for part time or full time hours. Preferrably I would work Monday to Friday during the day but I am open to babysitting evenings and weekends.

I have 2 younger siblings which i helped my parents look after from a young age. My first job was babysitting between the ages of 1-7 for 3 different families.

I then volunteered with Church looking after babies age 1-3 during the services. During the summer I was one of the leaders at a youth programme where we did activities with 11-16 year olds. I thoroughly enjoy teaching children as well as caring for them.

My childminding experience has been looking after four girls between the ages of 6 and 11. This involved picking them up from school, helping with homeworks, making lunches and dinners, bathing and getting the children ready for bed. I also helped with tidying the house, ironing and looking after the families pets and horses. Overnight stays gave me more opportunities to take them places and have fun at weekends.

I love children and hope that by starting another job childminding I will be able to not only care for them but also be able to help them grow and flourish. I am a real advocate for the outdoors and teaching children games.
