Dear family,
I am a multilingual nanny looking for a full time job around your area. I live in West Sussex at the moment but I will be moving to Hornchurch at the end of this month as my partner will be starting a job as a geotechnical engineer in the area. We have already found a lovely flat and we are very excited about it.
My plan is to find a nannie job in the London area whilst in my free time, focusing in translation & interpretation. I currently have four years of childcare experience.
My earliest date to start would be the 2nd of November.
- I speak fluent English, Spanish, Catalan and intermediate Italian (which I practice every day). I love languages and I enjoy sharing my enthusiasm I have with the children, dropping a few new words in another language once in a while so the children can always manage themselves when they go abroad (and help you out a little to ask for that thing in the menu which you don't really know what it is).
- I am someone energetic, creative and fun, who always tries to propose and plan activities for the children other than "tv watching ". I love reading and I like to think this is quite contagious (I must look like I am having a really good time when I read) and arts and crafts is one of my favourite activities (but like everyone, I do struggle once in a while, luckily for me the children are able to guide me through it). However, I always plan activities to the children’s preferences and happiness and I believe this maximises their potential creativity and interests.
- I love cooking and believe that a balanced diet is very important for a child’s development. Arranging weekly meals, using fresh ingredients to ensure they not only eat everything that is good for them (which is a bit of everything!), but they enjoy doing so. My trick is to give ordinary meals a little Mediterranean twist to make them more exciting! I also like to encourage kids to join me in the cooking / baking process.
- Keeping those bodies fit by encouraging exercise (I have to be honest here, it is as beneficial for me as it is for them!). As mentioned above I love to plan activities and hate to be stationary for too long. Once again I tailor sports and exercise to the kid’s preferences and hobbies. I myself, love swimming so all the better if they enjoy to swim, we could have so much fun!
- I am an animal lover and have a handsome two year old golden Labrador called Rupert and he is a big softy who gets way too excited at dinner time.
- I do not mind doing some cleaning, though I have to confess I am a bit of a cleaning freak, I love to see things tidy, spotless and in order, so after a long day at work it would be one less thing to worry about.
- I am really responsible and organised and I love “to do" lists. I am always punctual and in fact, I will probably arrive to pick them up way too early. But, I rather I wait for them than them for me! I also have a flexible timetable as well, so, I can always fit around your hours.
- So, just a little bit more about my experience (you can find my childcare and volunteering in the document attached) I have done a bit of everything, worked in backpacker’s hostels, as a barista and as a crew member on the forts in the Solent which have been converted to hotels. My plan for the future is to attain a translation & interpretation diploma to hopefully translate freelance. Before I came to the UK I also went to film school as I wanted to do documentaries (such as those Attenborough classics) but sadly I realized I was more into words than images. But it all comes to the fact that I love information being shared and that has always been one of my passions.
Well family, I think I am giving you a fair bit to read, so I should stop here. But please don't hesitate if you want to know more about myself.
In fact, I hope this encourages you to do the same and tell me about your family, because I would love to hear how you are all like!
Thanks for reading this, I hope you’re not going to bed too late after reading this!
Looking forward to hearing back from you.
Best Regards,
Carla
