PERSONAL PROFILE

I am a qualified child practitioner and would highlight patience and understanding amongst my best attributes. I work well as a team member but am confident in my ability to work independently also. I aim to lead by example in everything I do and I am very proud of my 100% attendance record. My personal hygiene standards are also very high whilst my child curriculum folder is always up to date and maintained to a high standard.

I have successfully completed Child Smile training twice in the last couple of years and I also completed First Aid training in June.

Naturally it is my responsibility to keep up-to-date with GIRFEC and Child Protection and as such, I recently completed a course covering these areas.

WORK HISTORY

I work in Seton House Nursery, where I have been for nearly 3 years. This is where I completed my training for my SVQ level 3 and where I am responsible for the health and well-being of all the children in my care. As such, my responsibilities on a day-to-day basis are wide-ranging and include:-

• Providing and ensuring a safe environment for the children to be happy and learn throughout their time in nursery.
• Following policies and procedures to ensure a safe environment for the children
• Carrying out daily risk assessments
• Giving the children care, support, guidance and encouragement
• Following Pre-Birth to 3 Curriculum for under 3 year olds and also Curriculum for Excellence for 3-5 years.
• Planning daily/weekly activities to support children’s learning development and to help meet their milestones
• Promoting and encouraging a daily routine i. e (nappy changing, lunch, snack times)
• Adhering to all cleaning schedules

HOBBIES & INTERESTS

I enjoy spending my free time with family and friends and generally socialising. I also like to keep fit and in particular I enjoy regular walking.
