Niamh, childcare provider in Buxton SK17

Dear Family,

I am Niamh Vize a hard working 21 year old based in Buxton, Derbyshire. I come from a very close family of four, living with both mum, dad and brother who is two years older than me. I have always been taught to be hard working and achieve the best I possibly can, this is why I am working hard to gain my BA Hons degree in Early Childhood studies at Sheffield Hallam.

I am in my final weeks studying at Sheffield Hallam, and have thoroughly enjoyed learning in depth about children aged 0-7 years, including their behaviours, development and working with the EYFS to organise appropriate activities depending on their ages. I also own a full up-to-date DBS certificate and have completed an St Johns Ambulance First Aid day course whilst completing my A-levels.

I am a bubbly character as well as a person who is able to communicate effectively with parents for the purposes of educating and caring for the child. When it comes to childcare experience, I have looked after children in both formal and informal contexts, during university placements in private day cares, schools and nurseries. As well as sole charge nannying throughout the summer for a family in Wilmslow. Throughout my placements I have particularly enjoyed working with babies and the under twos, getting them in to a routine, feeding, dressing, hygiene and changing; as well as planning activities that promote all areas of their development.

Not everyone is able to work with infants, or toddlers due to their demanding needs but I have a love and interest for this age group I think my personal qualities are perfect for this age range as I am very calm, organised and loving. I also believe my age is a positive aspect as I have a lot of energy to keep up with the fast pace life of caring for a baby.

When it comes to leisure, I take pleasure in the simple things in life. I enjoy being outdoors, being with my friends, going for walks and the gym as well as exploring places I have not been to in and out of the country. My main hobby and love is baking, I am a keen baker and love sharing my skills and teaching children how to bake and try new recipes.
I do not have any problems to help in and around the house and I really love cooking and planning nutritious meals for children, even babies. I do also own a full clean drivers licence so happy to drive around for duties if needs be.
