Charlotte, childcare provider in Edinburgh EH11

Hello, my name is Charlotte and I am 24. I am originally from Surrey in England but moved to Edinburgh two years ago to live with my fiance John. I hold a national diploma in art & design and have further obtained a foundation degree in graphic design.

I undertook work experience with children during my school study. I worked at a local primary school for a fortnight and helped children with tasks such as reading and writing. I also supervised on a school trip to London and was in charge of a small group.

Whilst studying at college I volunteered to help the special needs students from my college create Valentines Cards over a period of 4 weeks. I taught them different methods and helped them use different materials.

I have experience of paid employment in a School uniform shop in Edinburgh. I worked as a sales assistant and gained communication skills with both parents and children. The service at the store is personal and I would stay with a customer for sometimes more than an hour. This would include fitting the child in uniform and taking measurements. It was important to keep both parent and child comfortable in a busy environment.

I have a creative and friendly attitude and a fun nature and would love to start my career in working with young children now. After several years of gaining a qualification in a discipline I enjoy doing in my spare time and gaining work experience, I now feel that I want to follow a career path that is where my real interest lays.
