Evelina, childcare provider in Edinburgh EH9

Hello!

My previous experience:
I have three younger siblings (4, 9 and 11 years younger), which has made me very comfortable with children of different ages and personalities. Furthermore, I have worked at different preschools this year as a substitute teacher which has taught me a lot about how to get to know new children every day, their different quirks and needs and also how to quickly get into a new workplace. The children were 1-6 years old. I received nothing but compliments from my fellow teachers and the children quickly became fond of me. After all, I can tie my hair under my chin to make a glorious beard, and what more can you ask for?

Working as a nanny:
Now I would really love to continue working with children and especially working as a nanny really appeals to me. Being able to get to know the child, give it full focus and be able to do fun things that are impossible at a busy kindergarten. I would prefer working with younger children (1-6) but older ones would be completely fine as well.
The activities me and the children will be doing is of course very flexible and dependent on the children in question. Beside ordinary play I certainly would like to do other indoor activities such as reading, crafting and drawing. Working on learning numbers, letters, the clock and such is also something I would work into the daily routine. Outdoor activities such as going to parks and playgrounds would also be something I would like to do daily.

Hours:
My preferred arrangement would be around 25 hours per week. I will be studying an online-based History course this autumn which will take approximately 15-20 hours a week. But since it's a flexible course I will be able to work whenever needed. Even though I'm open to baby-sitting and part-time care, I would very much prefer a more permanent full-time arrangement.

A little bit about me as a person:
I'm from Sweden and just turned 21. On the 25th of August me and my best friend will be moving to Edinburgh with no plans to return. My mother tongue is Swedish, but I'm very comfortable both speaking and writing English and have a bilingual diploma.
In my spare time I like spending time with friends, watching films and TV-shows, reading and writing, drawing and painting, yoga and long walks. History is my big interest; different cultures and their mythologies etc as well as more traditional "royals and war"-focused history.
In general, and especially when working with children, I am very calm, patient and positive without being afraid to put my foot down if needed. Even though I'm very sensible and organized in many ways, I've always been quite creative and imaginative. Which is why I feel very comfortable and suited to working with children.
