Hi,
My name is Sophie, I am 23 years of age and live at home with both my parents in Great Sankey, Warrington.
I have 7 years experience working with children between 3 months and 9 years and have worked in a private day nursery, schools and as a sole charge nanny. I have a Level 3 qualification in Early Years, a degree in Early Childhood with Education Studies where I gained a 2:1 and a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification meaning I am more than confident supporting primary school aged children with homework.
I worked at the same private day nursery for four years, 6 months of which I worked as a room leader/supervisor in the baby room. While working at the nursery I began nannying for a Family of two children (age 1 and 2.5 years) and have cared for these children for nearly 5 years alongside other working commitments. I left the private day nursery in September 2013 and have worked ever since as a sole charge nanny as my full time job.
The first family I worked for had two children aged 6 and 9 years meaning I carried out various household chores while the children were at school including washing, ironing and cooking. This job involved me starting work at 5.15am in the morning so I have experience working unsociable hours.
The second family I worked for had just one baby who was 4 months old at the time of commencement. I worked very flexibly for this family as I worked during the night as a night nanny while the baby was getting into a routine, during the day while the mother went to work and also very early in the morning and at the weekend if given notice. The family also required me to travel with them to London on several occasions meaning I looked after the baby for a number of days.
After working for family 2 for 12 months the mother decided to give up work (November 2014). Since then I have worked on a temporary basis for various families helping out mothers who require support in the home with their baby or covering for nannies who are off sick. Just recently (February 2015) I traveled with a family of 4 children to France to help look after the children on a ski trip and am also due to travel with them again on March 27th-April 5th on another skiing trip to America.
Alongside working as a nanny on a temporary basis I am also currently working in primary schools with early years children on a supply basis which is something I have done since November 2014 and will continue to do until i secure a permanent role working for the right family.
I am hoping to find a permanent position working for a welcoming family for up to 4 days a week. I am a very caring and hands on individual who has a great passion to work with children of all ages. I have great references from pervious families I have worked for that outline my flexibility and trustworthy approach to working as a nanny. I have a clear up to date DBS check and am due to renew my paediatric first aid training shortly. I am not OFSTED registered but would be prepared to do so if required by a family. I have a car of my own and a clean driving licence of nearly 6 years.
I look forward to hearing from anyone who would be interested in considering myself to care for their child/children. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.
Sophie :).
