Laura, childcare provider in Newcastle-under-lyme

Hello parents and carers! Thank you very much for taking the time to read my profile. My name is Laura, I am 37 years old and live in Newcastle-under-Lyme in North Staffordshire. I am looking for a part-time position as a nanny or mother's help, preferably 2-3 days a week in North/Mid Staffordshire, South Cheshire or North East Shropshire.
I have ample childcare experience to offer - I have worked in a small, friendly, village pre-school for almost eight years, looking after children aged two to five years old. I also have a nine year old daughter and a three year old son and so have ample experience looking after babies and primary school aged children.
I hold NVQ Level 2 in Children's Care, Learning and Development, the Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce and a current paediatric first aid certificate. I also have a strong educational background, having completed ten G.C.S.E.s, four A-Levels and a BA (Hons) Degree when I was younger. I hold a full and current U.K. driving licence so am able to run errands and do school runs.
I am a very conscientious person and take it upon myself to complete tasks to the very best of my ability. I have a great sense of humour and am able to adapt this to suit different ages of children (and grown-ups!!!), but I also take behaviour and discipline very seriously and will absolutely support whatever style of parenting you choose to use, whilst discreetly offering my professional opinion, should you request this. I am also very caring and affectionate and would relish the opportunity to build a special bond with your children and spend real, quality time with them. I am able to transfer many skills from my experience working in a pre-school and from being a parent myself to a nannying or mother's help position: I have ample experience planning fun and educational activities for children, experience of potty and toilet training, bottle feeding and weaning. I am confident attending play groups, mums and tots groups, after school clubs etc. I'm used to helping both of my own children with their homework and would be happy to do this as part of my role with your own children, as well as some light household chores and cooking. I love animals, especially cats and dogs and so would be very happy to care for animals, including dog-walking. I speak French and German to conversational standard and play the violin.
In my spare time, I enjoy country walks, listening to all types of music, going to concerts as well as spending quality time with my children. I also love all things vintage!!
