Ever since I can remember, I have always wanted to work with children and I have learnt a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the last five years working in a Nursery setting. I am kind, caring, patient, punctual, confident and knowledgeable and take pride in the relationships I have created with my key children and their families. I am dedicated in providing rich, stimulating activities for the children and creating a safe environment which meets every child’s individual needs.

I am currently a full-time member of staff at a day nursery in Tonbridge for a large company. I am a key-person to eight children in the 2-3 year old’s room. My role includes planning for my key-children around their interests, supporting new children settling in to the room, providing a range of stimulating activities, being a constant positive role-model for the children and safeguarding them at all times. I change nappies and support toilet-training and encourage the children’s independence at meal times as well as self-dressing/undressing at sleep times. Other duties involve keeping parents up-to-date with their child’s progress and handing over at the end of the day on what their child has enjoyed doing. I am especially proud of the relationships I have built with my key-children and their families in the time I have been working here, I was nominated by a parent last year for ‘Employee of the year’ who said, “Upon first meeting Kirsty, she was so kind and friendly, my son naturally warmed to her. When he is upset or doesn’t want to leave me she knows how to comfort him. I find her to be so warm-natured. It’s a pleasure to have her look after my child.”
