Emma, childcare provider in Uphall EH52

My name is Emma, I am 30years old and live in Uphall with my partner Dave.
I have been qualified for 9years and have worked in childcare since. My qualifications are HNC in childcare and educations with the addition of PDAs. I am first aid trained and have a current food hygiene ceritifcate. I currently hold a PVG disclosure and I am registered with the SSSC in my current position.
I spent 4years working in a private nursery, first as a nursery nurse and then as a room supervisor. I then spent 3 1/2 years working in a local primary school as a support worker first in the nursery with children with additional support needs and then predominantly in Primary 1 supporting the class teacher. During my time in the school I gained experience working with children up to the age of 12 in various settings i.e the playground, dinner hall, assemblies and school trips. I also support classes further up the school at times. Last year I decided to return to nursery life and use my qualifications. During this time I have worked as a Room Manager at a nursery in Edinburgh and now as an Assistant Manager in a nursery in Broxburn.
I feel that my experiences over the years have led me to be very well informed on the developmental needs of children and their emotional and social behaviours. I am always very caring towards any children in my care and enjoy making bonds with individuals. I have had lots of experience with children with additional support needs or behavioural issues and always show great patience with them.
I am always looking to make learning fun for children and bring them new experiences. In my personal life I spend a lot of time with my nephew(almost 7years) we do lots of art and craft activities(I also hold a HNC for Art) we go on nature walks up to Binny Craig etc we have trips out to the cinema and shopping and spend lots of time playing football, frisbee and at the local park. In my working life I am always looking to develope learning and further a child's interest with various activities including art/messy play, walks, outdoor play and sensory experience.
