I am a widow and have brought up my children. My husband died when my youngest child was 9 years of age, so I have had to bring up my children on my own since then. My oldest two girls are at a good university in England and my youngest is now 17 and studying a BTec at a local college. I obtained a BA(Hons) in Spanish and French/English (part-time) while my children were growing up. I also have a CELTA qualification (teaching English as a foreign language) I also have reasonable IT skills. When I was younger I learned to play the guitar, can play a bit of piano, and the tin whistle - I used to sing semi-professionaly in my twenties and wrote many of my own songs.
I have always put my children first though and have always enjoyed being around them and helping them. Now that my youngest is almost grown up, I am missing not having anyone to help and feel that I would love to help someone else's children to get a good start in life. My first priority would be to ensure that they are 100% safe and happy.
Occasional babysitting | $8.50 per hour |
Partial / after-school care | $8.10 per hour |
Home nanny | $8.00 per hour |
The rates are always negotiable and would need to reflect the distance I have to travel to get to the position and the number of hours worked e.g. if I am employed close to home I could charge less than if I have to travel 20 mile return journey.
