Hello, my name is Sophie. I am 22 years old. I worked in childcare for over 4 years and am fully qualified; I have an NVQ 3 in Childcare.
I am preferably after full time work, however would consider a position of 25 hours + a week if the right opportunity came along. I would be happy to work some weekends if required, but I am really looking for hours during the week. *Not including late evenings unfortunately- can discuss further if interested.
I bring a lot of qualities as a person as well as a childcarer. I am down to earth, fun - loving, bubbly, enthusiastic, love getting messy and creative with activities and games. As well as being mature and responsible, I thoroughly enjoy getting fully involved with all games, activities and role play whether it be just playing with toys, creating and making up games, or setting up role play areas and ideas for children. One of my most successful and enjoyable ideas whilst working in my setting, was setting up and creating a section where children could go and play and was know as their 'Magical Kingdom'.
Along with this, I always planned and set up activities and new ideas and things for the children to create. For example: arts & crafts, musical areas, home/kitchen areas, baking/cooking; (adult supervised), outdoor play, parachute games and lots more!
During my time at the club, I progressed and developed a lot of my knowledge and skills of working with children and young people. When I first started out, I had no qualifications or experience of working with children, however achieved and lot in my time there; such as: Obtaining NVQ 2 & 3 Qualifications in Childcare within just 2 years, attended and completed several training and courses relevant to the job; Safeguarding children and young people, Autism awareness, disability awareness, epipen training etc. I achieved a few promotions during my them here as well, going from starting out as a play worker, to within a few weeks being promoted to deputy play worker, then deputy play leader, soon after co-play leader and closely after that sole play leader, where I was running the setting with up to 50 children of an afternoon by myself with some assistance by 3 of my other play workers.
Furthermore, I have recently updated my Paediatric First Aid and have food safety & food hygiene if I was required to cook and finally was the designated health and safety officer at the club so am fully aware and always conscious of my surroundings and any risks and/or dangers around me to look out for.
Partial / after-school care | $7.00 per hour |
Home nanny | $8.00 per hour |
In my previous job as Play Leader in an Out Of School Club, my salary was £7.00 an hour in a part time position so would ask for the same amount. Obviously then for a full time job, I would expect slightly more hence the price above.
