I have worked as a secretary in a Children's Special Education Centre for 12 years. While I was working there I realized that I would like to get more involved with children’s support.
I have a certificate in Special Education and training for people with disabilities or Special Educational Needs.
I am an organized person who has a knack for relating to children. I am also a very good multitasker and have a great imagination which I find useful when dealing with young people to keep them interested and engaged. I put a focus on providing the children I care for with love, support and guidance so that they feel comfortable and relaxed while under my supervision.
I am a very patient person which helped me to deal with children with various learning disabilities, as well as their distressed parents. I am organized, working always on a schedule. I also prepare lesson plans and new teaching materials. I am also methodical; I can assess children both formally or informally in order to understand their strengths as well as weakness/needs and select the learning approach suitable for them i.e. visual, auditory and kinesthetic.
I arrange activities and apply curricula that motivate children's physiological, emotional and social development.
I assist children to discover their individual interests, build up talents and confidence and in general get them ready for proper schooling.
My aspiration is to help children so that they reach their full potential, as it’s very rewarding to be part of their journey. Ultimately that is what it’s all about!
