Julie, childcare provider - ML2 Wishaw

Hello

My name is Julie, I am 27 years old and have been working with children from a very young age. When younger I took care of my family members children on a weekly basis from picking them up from nursery or school, helping with homework, cooking dinner and also having them over night if their parents were out for the night. I attended Glasgow Nautical college and received an HNC in Early Education and Childcare. From there I began working in a nursery, working with children from 6 weeks to 5 years. I stayed there for 4 years; i was then promoted to nursery supervisor leading onto becoming the nursery manager for a year. I now care regularly for my 2 nephews, one 5 months and one 4 years; taking them on days out and spending quality time with them.

I have always had a passion for caring for children and although loved my time within the nurseries I feel one to one care with children can be very beneficial. It gives the child and carer a close relationship, causing a strong bond. The child can blossom in a caring, loving environment; becoming a more confident, bright, happy child.
