Kylie, childcare provider in Scunthorpe DN15

Hi, I'm Kylie.

My whole work life has been spent taking care of children, most of those in a pre-school aged 2-3. The past 3 years I was a nanny to two wonderful children, I started when the youngest child was still a tiny foetus, the older child 9 months, and was unfortunately made redundant when one was 2 1/2 and the other almost 4.

I'm looking for further nanny work within Scunthorpe, as I don't drive. I'm quiet and dedicated, so may seem a little aloof at first, but with children I will get down on the ground and play, sing songs, be generally silly. That doesn't mean I'm not firm if the situation calls for it. I'm very much a nanny who will help give meaning to a child's moods and try and direct them away from certain behaviour (such as throwing toys when upset). I do this by letting the child know that I understand they may be angry or upset, but they can't throw toys. This gives them the words to express their anger and by strategising with their parents we can hopefully tackle any behaviour, together as a team.
