Hello, my name is Courtney an I am interested in the job as I have been in the company of children for a few years. My experience with children is that I have been baby sitting, cooking an cleaning for family for a few years now to help them out and have a days rest. I have a nephew who is 18 months and I have been with him from day one. I have been a long side my sister throughout his upbringing and I have been baby sitting him over night, doing the feeds and the nappies from only a few weeks old and I am still continuing to provide my help. I have also been baby sitting other family members for a few years, my cousins and my sister. Whilst I baby sit I do cook them all their meals and do chores around the house. I completed a childcare course in high school through 4th and 5th year an got A* overall and I really enjoyed learning about the development and different stages that a child goes through growing up. Also during 4th year of high school I also went to college ones a week to study child at play and other things that came with it for example. I learnt how to bath, change, feed and clothe a baby. At the end of it I achieved the highest grades possible and throughout practical activities I got very high grades and did not fail anything as I was interested through the full time in the corse. I also learnt about toddlers and I had to read stories to kids and we done arts and crafts as well to show us what all can entertain kids at such a young aged or example, drawing, painting and building blocks. At the minute I am currently in full time study at college doing Public Service and by the end of the 2 year course I will have 3 equivalent A levels and a up to date First Aid certificicate. I've done work experience in Gilford Primary School with P5 and I was a class room assistant! I was on playground duty and helped all the kids get along and to share and to include everyone to keep everyone happy! I also helped the kids with some of their work if they were struggling or didn't understand something, I always give my time to sit down with them and do go over everything so it was clear and I have good patience so nothing was rushed as it is important that they understand what they are doing. I am able to do full time work from the start of June as I've said I am still in full time study at the moment.
