Ellie, childcare provider in Sidmouth

Last year I completed my level three childcare and education diploma at Exeter College. Part of the diploma required us to do over 365 hours of placement work in a variety of settings such as nurseries and primary schools. I have done placements at Exeter College nursery, Clyst Heath Primary school and Sidmouth Primary school and their nursery. Working in these placements over two years gave me so much experience as my college tutor would come in regularly and assess my work with the children and I was also required to plan and do different activities for groups of children based on the EYFS framework which in turn helped me really understand the different areas of development and also to make sure the activities that I did with the children were suited to their ages and abilities. I have also baby sat for family friends which has ranged from babies to children. I’ve taken children to and from different activities and after school clubs.

When I finished college I worked at Sidmouth nursery as a nursery practitioner where I had responsibility for caring for babies and also toddlers.
