Janna, childcare provider - SN8 Aldbourne

Hello! I believe I'm a bubbly, smiley, caring and energetic individual who has a genuine passion for childcare. I love being outdoors, getting my wellies on and going for a long walk through the countryside. I also enjoy swimming and cycling and love animals, having had a variety of them around myself and my three sisters growing up. I very much enjoy travelling and experiencing new things; I have spent 4 years living in Spain and also lived in Miami for a period of time before settling back in the UK.

Having always wanted to work with children I started right from school with babysitting and helping the younger years in the reception classes; this experience encouraged me to move to Miami after completing my Alevels when I was 18 to work as a mother's help, caring for a 2 year old and a newborn baby which was an incredible time and a great learning curve. I then returned to London where I worked in various part time childcare positions and decided I wanted to further my career and gain qualifications in the field. For the past few years I have worked in a children's day nursery and state pre school working with children from 6 weeks to 5 years; I have progressed from unqualified nursery practitioner to deputy manager and acting nursery manager which I am very proud of.

Although I enjoy my current position and have learnt a lot about the field of childcare, I miss the hands on contact I had with the children and wish to get back to being a direct part of a child's life, helping them grow and learn, after all this is why I entered the profession in the first place!

I have extensive knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stages and understand how to support children's development through stimulating activities and play.

I am looking primarily for at least 4 days a week but would be willing to do ad hoc and casual child care on a day to day basis before I secure this.
