I have been employed as a nursery nurse since March 2008, and therefore have over six years’ experience of working with children, ranging from newborns to 4 year olds. During that time, my role has involved caring for the children, serving meals and supervising mealtimes, planning indoor and outdoor activities for the children and preparing displays. I also completed my first-aid training and carried out first-aid if needed, although this qualification has now expired. I also completed a course in food hygiene.
I also have personal experience of being around children with behavioural difficulties, as a close relative has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
I am very committed to working with children, and have completed voluntary work and studied courses of my own initiative to improve my knowledge. However, I am looking for a position as a nanny, as my motivation for pursuing a career in childcare is because I enjoy being around children and helping their development, and I feel that nurseries place too much emphasis on completing paperwork.
I am looking for a full-time role if possible, but am flexible if part-time care is required. I am located close to both the M62 and A1, and therefore have transport links and can travel for the right role.
