I have grown up with my younger having Autism and ADHD. She is quite a challenging individual! I regularly have helped with meal times, school work, her physical needs (for example, when she was younger, she had very weak ankles and had to be pushed around in a wheelchair and had regular physio therapy) and taking her out to the special needs adventure playground to help her socialise with other children. She has regular mood swings and very strong reactions to normal things, such as dinner times, bath times and friendship problems at school, so I have grown to learn how to console and handle these emotions. Also, our cousin also has Autism and ADHD, and I am the only person trusted to child mind Brooke, as I'm the only person capable of looking after her and handling her at times. In 2011, I did work experience at Springhill Primary School in Chase Terrace, working with a group of 5 children helping them with their work. I also worked in a elderly care home and did various activities and tasks as explained in my CV. I understand that I do not have any childcare qualifications, and that is to my disadvantage. However I do have an awful lot of experience in Special Needs Children, and because of this I have a very lovely attitude towards children, and I do aspire to work with children.
