Narjes, childcare - S11 Sheffield

Hi, My name is Narjes. I am 20 years old and I am currently going on to my 3rd year as a Medical student in the university of Southampton. I hope to be a paediatrician in the future.

I enjoy playing badminton regularly, attending gym classes and going running. I also enjoy going sightseeing, travelling and cycling in the peak district. I have a very keen interest in fashion keeping up with the latest trends and designers. I also have a love for travelling the World.

I have been working in my university as a Student Ambassador, where I visit local schools I would give an interactive presentation about life as a university student and lead creative group tasks. I also give many campus tours and accommodation tours. By being a student ambassador I have gained a lot of confidence in speaking to a large crowd and learn how to control difficult situations involving younger people.

During my days at school I took on the role to be a student ambassador at various open days chatting assertively to parents and new students showing them around the school and offering them any information or advice they required.

I have previously mentored school students (y7-y11) in Maths and Science to help the m pass their GCSE’s, in a school that the performance was well below the national average. This has taught me a lot about how to control situations where it isn't easy to have control. I really enjoyed doing this, because I appreciate helping young people to realise their potential, and I also try and inspire people in the things I do.
