Hello, my name is Tanya. I currently work as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school, and I have plenty of experience working with children. I have worked and volunteered in primary schools on and off since the age of 16, because of the amount of experience that I have gained through both paid and unpaid work, I have developed a great set of skills in relation to looking after children. I am looking for a babysitting position because this is something which I have a lot of experience in doing.
I am calm in my approach to children, and I have a lot of patience. I believe that patience is vital. I also believe in the idea of listening to each child: their opinions are extremely important, and not taking them into account could severely dishearten the child. Every child matters: no matter what a child's background is, their race, their culture, their disability, each and every child is equal, and therefore no child should ever be singled out.
I have experience of conducting extra curricula activities, and I currently run my own art club (as this helps with the children's fine motor skills). I also help children with class work, homework, and I have set extra homework tasks before.
Ideally, I would like to go into teaching, and I feel as though caring fir children and helping them with their learning will help me progress, allowing myself to become one step closer to being a teacher.
One thing that sets me apart from a lot of other workers is my creativity. No matter what level a child is working at, I will always try my hardest to ensure that each and every child are accessing the work that they need. There have been occasions where I have created my own board games, taken extra classes, modified worksheets and acted out different subject stories in order to aid a child's learning and understanding.
I do not drive, but I am learning to. I am willing to take children out on day trips etc. I also have a full CRB check, and a reference obtained from a primary school teacher.
