I am an enthusiastic and dedicated person with a keen interest in working with children. I would love to have the responsibility to be able to positively influence a child’s life for the better, and guide them in the early stages of childhood, as the early years can be the most important stage. When I chose Child Development during year 10 I experienced an eye-opening course which taught me many things first hand; this ignited my desire to work with children as a career and it has given me the motivation and determination to choose this career pathway.
I consider myself to be a hardworking and highly motivated person who enjoys facing many challenges. I very much enjoy the satisfaction of helping children develop into the best they can possibly be. I believe that my bubbly personality as well as an independent, committed and motivated personality would make me an ideal candidate for this job.
I am currently studying Childcare at Level 3, during which I have gained invaluable experience of working on placement for two days a week with children aged 0-5 years, in many different settings which include, a private nursery and foundation stages 1 and 2, giving me a total of over 700 hours experience. I have also completed a two week block placement working with children who have special needs. This enabled me to gain experience of meeting individual needs of children in a variety of ways as well as learning how to manage their behavior, together with the importance of working collaboratively within a team and alongside each child’s families. Talking about their progression and what parents can do to help, has given me an insight of the skills required to become a practitioner. I have gained experience of working within an SEN setting and I am currently working one to one with children with autism, developmental delay and other complex and behavioral needs.
I also studied BTEC health and social to merit level, giving me a greater understanding as we covered many topics and learned about the well-being of children and families.
I have taken part in a first aid workshop with the Red Cross and with the knowledge and skills I have gained, this has helped me to feel more prepared and confident to able to cope in an emergency situation. Finally, I would like to apply for this role as I find my experiences of working within this field rewarding.
