Before graduating as a social worker with a BA honest degree, I worked in a primary school for 4 years with ages 3-11 including some one to one work with children with Aautism and ADHD. This role including help with homework, arranging activities to keep children entertained such as baking, decorating for annual events, outdoor activities, school trips, extra curricular activities, arts and crafts, fancy dress, reading, writing etc.
I was also a nursery nurse for 1 year whereby I worked with babies from 3 months to children of 6 years old. This involved working in partnership with parents to support each baby or infant to reach their milestones. I completed activities such as singing, reading/story time, sensory activities including different materials, textures, sand pit, play dough (age depending), general play time, musical instruments, learning about colours, animals, shapes etc and completed personal care including nappies, lotions/creams, managing allergies, feeding and bottle feeding as appropriate and supporting children/babies to settle and nap , alongside any other general child care required.
I am the type of person to always go out of my way for others, i love to help people and I think this job is rewarding. I love spending time with children and I understand that having someone you can trust with your children is very important as my mother was very protective over leaving me from what I remember. I feel it’s important that any parent wanting me to baby sit trusts me in order to feel comfortable leaving me with their children, and enjoy their evening/day too.
I am fun, talkative and committed. I am reliable and I want the children I am babysitting to look forward to me doing so! Having a bond with both the parents and children is very important. I am willing to do all sorts of activities, jobs and games/activities. Making fun and being silly is all part of the job!
I come from a family of 7 siblings and 6 nephews/nieces so I am used to being around young children and babies. I’m used to caring in both a professional and personal setting.
I do not mind travelling to houses and I do not mind taking children out either if parents wanted me to.
I also offer to visit the baby/child/children and parents before hand to ease any anxieties as much as possible on the day/night when a parent wishes to go out.
Feel free to ring or message me, I respond quite quickly and I am open to any questions or enquiries
