Gwen, childcare - SY1 Shrewsbury

I am a 17 year old female student looking for employment to give me a sense of independence as well as to challenge myself to learn new skills.

I graduated from Belvidere Secondary School in 2014 achieving 12 GCSE’s and I am currently still in education at Shrewsbury Sixth Form College studying Geography, Art and Law at A level.

I love working with children and ensuring they enjoy themselves whilst undertaking fun activities. I find myself to be a responsible teenager that can adapt to being around children. I can be a fun person and can keep children entertained from drawing to playing indoor and outdoor games. I want to start working and looking after children to start my career path which is to eventually become a teacher.

In the summer of 2013 I had an opportunity to have work experience at Twyford Tots Nursery where I looked after children aged 2-4. I was given a lot of responsibility when having to supervise the children and had to prepare the children's snacks as well as sanitising tables, chairs and aprons for the children.

I had another opportunity to have work experience again at St Giles CE Primary School in the summer of 2015 where I looked after children aged 4-6. I played activities with children from playing tig, playing with sand as well as drawing and painting. I also supervised the children at Sports day and ensured they were safe whilst playing games.
