Rebecca, childcare - TA21 Rockwell green

I am a quiet and gentle natured person, as people get to know me, I am very fun and chatty, and I can easily relate to children of all ages. I also believe in good discipline, so I can be strict but kind about bad behaviour. I am a very well organised person who works well with a good structure to the day. I am very good at cooking and helping around the house when children are asleep or doing homework etc. I do have a car and I am happy to travel to travel around the Taunton Deane Area.

The majority of my experience of care has been from the ages of 3 up until 10 but I am very happy to care for ages outside of my official experience...
I have previously worked as a sewing teacher for approx two years, working with both children and adults on regular weekly term time classes and holiday clubs. I have been able to have the opportunity to be able to manage a class of children as well as being able to come alongside individuals who were in need of extra support. I love being able to encourage young ones to become the best they can be in their own individual personality and character, and help them build on skills for their future.
I did also have the opportunity for some short term nannying in London for twin girls at primary school. It was after school care, ensuring that when I collected them from School, they finished their homework, that they had a delicious meal to sit down to, and were bathed and tucked into bed at the right time. It was nannying for these twins that made me realise that I wanted to work within care for children more.
I have had past experience volunteering as a Sunday school teacher about 10 years ago, as well as being a babysitter for various friends in the area. But more recently, I have been involved with temporary care for a toddler within the last month who stayed with myself and my family for a short time until the mother was in hospital.

I am a Christian and although I never press my faith and my beliefs onto others, I am happy to talk about it when asked. It is an important part of me and so it is important that you know about that part of me as well.
I am currently in the process of getting my DBS and would be willing to do a first aid course if required.
I am only looking for part time work. I am available everyday during the week but would only be willing to work 3 full days or 5 half days. I am available during term time and holidays and I would be willing to work the occasional Saturday, but I would not be able to commit to regular work on Saturdays.
