Hi,
My name is Helen. Having recently taken early retirement from teaching, I missed the lively buzz and energetic enthusiasm of children around me every day and decided to become a nanny. I have now completed three years in my new profession and couldn’t be happier and more fulfilled.
I am outgoing, fun loving, young-at-heart and highly organised with endless ideas and energy. I can turn my hand to most things, from arts and crafts to sport – whatever comes my way. If I can’t do it already I will give it my best shot! As well as being practical in every way, I am reliable, responsible and will always do my best in every situation.
As a mum of three boys and a primary school teacher, I have over 30 years of experience in supporting and encouraging children to become their own person, to be the best they can be educationally, socially and morally and my sense of humour ensures they have fun at all times.
I always endeavour to live life to the full and love to learn new things, but my passions are music and cookery/food. I have a degree in music and play a variety of instruments (clarinet being my main instrument) and sing. I was classically trained but love to play folk too, as well as keep up with the latest pop scene and trends. I love to cook whenever I can and have always enjoyed providing healthy, tasty, exciting and nutritious meals for my family and friends. I believe in using the best ingredients whenever possible and have previously owned my own catering business delivering ready to cook healthy meals to private clients, or cooking for their dinner parties in their home.
I am definitely an outdoor person and love to go out walking, whatever the weather. My parents had a smallholding when they were younger and were self-sufficient so I have grown up learning to live off of the land. I used to hand milk our Jersey cow every morning before school and enjoyed looking after and riding our ponies, feeding and caring for the other animals as well as having fun with our family dogs! In my previous nanny role the family lived on a small holding which meant I could dig up fresh produce to use for the children’s meals as well as collect eggs, feed the animals and spend time relaxing with any one of the 5 cats on my lap!
I am looking for a full or part time Nanny or Nanny/Housekeeper role within 20 miles of the hastings area.
That is a little about me, but I would love the opportunity to meet with you and share more of my experiences and personality.
Kind Regards
Helen
