Sophia, childcare in Whitley bay

I am Sophia, I live at home with my Husband and our beautiful daughter. I went to Whitley Bay High School where I obtained 6 C+ GCSE's. I then went on to gain my NVQ level two in Early Years Education and Development; whilst working at Battle Hill Sure Start Nursery.

Having worked with children since I was 17 it is something I feel very passionately about. I feel I have now gained the necessary life experience to be able to offer families the best care I can, to a high standard. I am a genuinely caring person and thrive caring for people in a holistic manner. I am self motivated and have excellent time management skills. I can use reflection to self evaluate my work and realise what aspects I could of improved, also taking on board constructive criticism and applying this to future practice. Whilst working within a nursery setting I was taught the importance of safeguarding and the consequences of failing to do so correctly. Another valuable skill I gained during my time at the nursery was how to work and liaise with professionals such as social workers, child protection teams, doctors, nurses and foster carers as well as working as part of a team with the nursery staff. I cared for children with special dietary, sensory, medical, social and educational needs. At the nursery it was very important for us to promote health and wellbeing, this is an aspect I know is very important when working in a care setting and something I intend to do to the best of my ability. I feel I could be a valuable assets to a family and would put the most into everything I do.
