Dana, childcare in Worcester

Hello my name is Dana . I've been looking for childcare work as I love working with children, I have not got previous experience apart for caring for siblings and other family members, which I have been doing most of my life. I currently take care of my two cousins for one day a week, the eldest is 3 and the youngest has just turned one. I really enjoy getting to take care of them and we love to find new activities and things to do each weeks. For my work experience I work at a local primary school, as a teaching assistant. I did one week of working in the classroom of children aged 6-7 helping then with their reading and spellings, and also teaching them fun ways to enjoy the lessons. I got the pleasure of being able to take over the art lesson as I have a college qualification in Art and design, I taught them different ways to let their imagination burst. On my second week of work experience, I moved to the lower part of the school to work in the SEN nursery. This was one of the most privileging things I have ever been able to do, I got to work with the children, play with the, help them with any struggles they had. I got to teach them how to finger paint and read to them. But the best thing about that experience was getting to take them into the sensory room, it was so moving to see these children so happy and peaceful, and that is why I would love to work with children. It's such a rewarding job and I love to be able to teach them some fun learning activities and to make them smile.
