Karen, childminder in Oxford

Hi
My name is Karen , I'm a 47 single mum of 3 fantastic boys - lewis 20 Dylan 15 Luke 13 .
I have worked in retail for 30 years as I was able to work term time while my boys were younger . I enjoyed helping out at my childrens activities at school as much as i was able and have always wanted to go into childcare and now my boys are older I have opted to change my career.
I am now working at a private nursery where I have now started on my nvq in childcare , I have had first aid training and done all the basic child illness , child protection trainings .
As much as I like the job some aspects I find hard to deal with . I feel that at the nursery there can be so many more children to staff that they do not receive the attention they need and deserve.
So as a childminder I would like to offer a lot more to a smaller group .
I have learnt lots of fantastic game ideas through the nursery that I would enjoy using , I have a large garden for lots of outdoor fun and a large out door covered play area for messy play .
