Since becoming a childminder I have had the privilege of working with a number of children and have gained such job satisfaction from watching them grow and develop within my care. I have looked after newborn's upto 12 years old and can provide references to anyone coming into my care. Most of my childcare experience has come through my own children who are a bundle of fun and energy and as such this has rubbed off onto me and my approach to childminding as I focus on physical activity as a way of learning and developing. Play is the most important way a child can develop and I thrive on helping children reach their full potential by implementing areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage programme into my daily routine.

I teach the children in my care real life experiences. We visit the post office, local stores, parks, clubs, library, and complete everyday activities. I like to show the children how the world works so we will post letters home and buy stamps from the shops, i try to walk to local toddler groups and clubs where possible with the children so will talk to them about road safety and about traffic, animals, trees or whatever might take the childs interests. I have a theme of the week and look to world events and national holidays to promote a knowledge of other cultures into my home.

Most importantly i try and offer a home from home for your child.

I have CRB clearance to work with children as does my husband (although he will not be working directly with your child he may be in the house when your child is minded)

I have compleated a childrens first aid course which must be updated every 3 years (my current certificate was issues in May 2014)

I have completed a safeguarding course which has provided me woth knowledge on how to best provide a duty of care to the children in my care.

I have had a risk assessment from food hygiene as i make and prepare food on my premesis

I have a degree in Psychology and Physical Education

I am a member of PACEY and have public liability insurance

I am currently in the process of completing various modules related to child care via PACEY
