Katie, foreign au pair in Bridgend

My name is Katie and I am 21 years old, and I live in the Bridgend area. I have my own car so I am able to travel freely to where ever I'm needed. I have professional experience of a caring and learning environment for children, as well as a personal experience by having two nephews and a niece.

I have experience in a variety of activities which I can adapt to help suit the age of the child I am looking after. Some of these include soft play for babies and young children, painting, sensory activities for ages of 6 weeks to 9 years, playdough activiities, cooking for older children, different methods to help children with school work as well as many more. I always try to make the activities fun for children, but so that they find it easy to learn, whether that be colours for younger children, to numbers and maths for older children.

I have always felt passionate about working with children, and find the role rewarding for myself but helping children develop to the best of their abilities. I thoroughly enjoyed working in a variety of children’s settings during my childcare course, where the children were aged 6 weeks – 9 years old. I have worked with children with Special Educational Needs. I am able to adapt my approach to meet the needs of individual children and feel confident working on my own.
