Bethany, foreign au pair - NE29 North shields

Hello, my name is Bethany and I am 18 years old. When I left school I did a 2 year level 3 childcare course in 1 year along with other childcare related certificates within this year. These certificates include first aid, protection and safeguarding, food safety, and more.
The experience that I have of working with children from the age of 6 weeks to 12 years, both with children with special needs and learning difficulties and without has influenced me to want to work in a classroom supporting children in my future career.
I worked in a special needs school called Beacon Hill for 1 week as work experience. I was working with different ages ranging from 1 year to 12 years old. This gave me experience working as a teaching assistant. I was doing various different tasks including working 1 on 1 with one of the pupils who had autism. I also worked in a nursery called Maple Lodge for 5 and a half months gaining experience as a nursery nurse with children aged 6 weeks to 4 years. I then worked as a play worker in a private school called Kings Priory with ages 4 to 12 years for 5 months. I now work at Little Gems OTS Nursery. I have worked here since September 2014 and have gained experience working in the over 2's room and also in the baby room with the youngest baby being 7 months old.
I think I am good childcare provider as I have a patient, understanding nature that I think is encouraging to those around me. I am a good listener and caring towards others. I am very outgoing and love to do lots of fun activities and enjoy to visit a range of different places which I think the children would enjoy.
