Laurie, foreign au pair in Prestwick

I am a very confident and energetic individual. From the age of 17 I spent a year living and working in India as a volunteer English teacher with the charity Project Trust. This allowed me to gain very valuable skills and life experience. For instance, I have excellent communication skills and I am very flexible and resilient. Also, being an English teacher required me to be very energetic and engaging, coming up with games and activities to keep my students happy which I can bring to child care. At home, I have one younger brother who I used to look after on weekends and many little cousins I have also babysat. Also, before moving to India, In my final year of school I spent most free periods visiting my old primary school where I helped assist teach the younger students. At the same time I volunteered in a youth club, planning and organising activities to do each night such as, art club and and dance classes. I also tutored a 4 year old once a week. Although I don't have much experience babysitting children, I do have experience working with children and find it very enjoyable and rewarding.
