Since leaving college, with an HNC in Early Education and Childcare, I have been employed at a local nursery in Stirling, I work in a 3-5 setting which I really enjoy and I have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work in all of the other rooms with age ranges of 0-5 years. I have also been given my key group which I have built up personal plans for and created a SHANARRI for each child and their individual needs this is to make sure the children are (Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included). I also carry out activities each day which I record by completing online journals for each of my children. My activities include Outside play, Messy play (sticky pictures, making play-dough, gloop etc.) Numeracy and Literacy actives, role play and many more depending on what the children would like to do. As I work in a 3-5 room I have been a part of children's transitions to school which has given me a great knowledge and understanding of the move between nursery and primary 1.

I am also very aware of all Legislation's which relate to childcare and I have a great understanding child protection. The Curriculum for Excellence is the document I use at my current employment, I also used this document to support my studies at college for 4 years, therefore, I am very aware of this and the importance it has on children’s learning and development. I was also very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend a workshop at college about the new “Building the Ambitions” document that is now used in all nurseries.

My passion is working with children; therefore, I am enthusiastic and motivated in my practices. I am able to communicate well both verbally and non-verbally which children, parents and my colleagues. I have the ability to work on my own initiative and as part of a team, I am able to solve problems, plan and organise. I am extremely trustworthy and a very caring person.

Thank-you very much for taking the time to read my profile.

Hope to hear for you soon.

Yours Sincerely,

Annie .
