Emily, foreign au pair in Sutton-on-the-forest

My name is Emily, I am 18 years old and I have a huge passion for working with children. I am ideally looking for a nanny or a nanny/housekeeping role. However I am very flexible and I am willing to help out in most situations, so if you think I could be of help to you please let me know!

People often describe me as being warm, trusting, friendly and dedicated to whatever I set out to do. I also feel that I have good leadership and communication skills as well as working well under pressure, all of which I believe are essential skills to have when working with children.

I would be able to work flexibly between Monday to Friday (with the exception of Tuesday evenings as I volunteer at Brownies). I have over 3 years experience working with children of a range of ages, from new born to 12. This has ranged from volunteering in school and nursery settings to working as a babysitter/house keeper. As well as this, I have previous working experience in restaurants and bars and also being a team mentor on the National Citizen Service programme. Through volunteering at Brownies, I have learned a huge amounts when it comes to looking after children. For example, I am now First Aid trained and can easily fill out risk assessment forms and analyse safe guarding situations. I have also learned various techniques on how to control children and keep them interested in a task they are set. This is mainly delivered through a variety of engaging games and craft activities. From this experience I have been awarded with my "Adult Leadership Qualification" which is one of my biggest achievements so far.

I am confident in both cooking and cleaning and I have experience of this through helping out in my own home! I also hold a full UK driving license and I am a happy and safe driver (according to my telematics box!).
