To whom it may concern,

With regards to the post as a Nanny please find enclosed a copy of my CV.

Having had the opportunity to work as a full time Nanny early on in my career, this has helped me to gain essential experience of babies and children.
I cared for two children initially aged 14months and 4years and thoroughly enjoyed my journey in partnership with the family. Therefore, I am passionate to pursue this career once more.

Over the years I have received much praise and respect within my role and work commitment through positive feedback from the parents and by maintaining their beliefs within their equality and diversity. This has made me more confident in my profession.

My role as a Nanny involved caring for the children, babysitting within advanced agreement, ensuring the children’s daily hygiene was maintained and carried out general nanny duties. Getting involved with the children’s individual development with respect of their social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs was essential in providing stimulating and educational play. I organised numerous planned activities which included; trips out, historical visits, arranging of birthday parties, taking the children to classes such as ballet, swimming, mums and toddler groups, playgroup and eventually school. A weekly visit with the children to the library to choose new books was a high priority.

I also strived to cook healthy, nutritious meals, with the aim of encouraging the children and allowing them to engage in supervised preparation of food. This allowed them to express themselves and learn the importance of a healthy balanced diet. The children’s parents supported me in making day to day decisions based on trust. By working closely with the parent’s wishes, taking on board challenging tasks and taking full responsibility for both children every day I was able to discuss their daily progress and developments. Through my noted records, reports and hand over, the parents were kept up to date and informed which they greatly appreciated.

This in turn was very rewarding for all. On such times where the parents were unable to attend special school plays and events, I took many photographs and video recordings with their permission for them to see and keep these precious memories and special moments. My challenge was to encourage emotional and social integration into the village life which in turn would give the children contentment and reassurance in unfamiliar settings.

In the past I have also worked as a qualified level 2 Nursery Nurse and gathered experience in the nursery setting. I have undertaken supply work in many different areas of York, which has given me valuable experience too.

In summer 2013 I gained my level 3 and I am currently working as a Nursery Nurse at Daisy Chain Day Nursery, which has an outstanding OFSTED reputation in York. Although I enjoy working there and have gained vast experience, I feel I would be better suited working as a Nanny.

Regarding your advertisement for a Nanny position, I am confident that I would fit in with your family routines. I have the right approach in maintaining my professional standards, whilst being flexible working within the home setting.

I look forward to having the opportunity to meet with you and your family.

Kind Regards,

Kimberley .
