Emily, foreign au pair - YO11 Scarborough

Hi, my Name is Emily.
I am a reliable, trustworthy, hardworking and caring person looking to start my career as a childminder/ Nannie.

I have done several different placements and enjoyed every single one of them, seeing how children develop at different ages of there life. I am very positive and enthusiastic attitude towards the teaching of children.
I decided to follow the route of child care and enrolled at Yorkshire Coast College (now Scarborough Tech) at 16yrs old. I have been progressing through the levels for the last 4yrs which has involved a number of hours in placement. These are my favourite days because I am passionate about working with children, helping and encouraging them to achieve the necessary skills required whilst they enjoy their time at nursery and have fun.
During my time at college I have learnt a lot about the development of children and babies and look forward to putting into practice all that I have learnt.
I am a responsible person and I understand the importance of confidentially, equality and child protection and the safeguarding of children in the workplace and ensuring that procedures are observed at all times. This was an important part of my learning at collegeI am a very caring and conscientious person.
I have a friendly and approachable nature and I am able to communicate well with colleagues, parents/carers and children alike. I work well as a team and I can also use my own initiative. I am flexible and willing to turn my hand to anything and not afraid of hard work. I am able to work outside set hours when required. I am willing to do any additional courses where appropriate.
Having worked with children with special needs at two different placements, I found it very rewarding and I would like to extend my knowledge and experience in SEN (Special Educational Needs). I am very adaptable and patient, I have a natural calming nature and am able to cope with whatever situation may arise.
I enjoy encouraging all children to socialize so that they can interact together and make new friends.
I am very organized, thorough and methodical in my record keeping and I love planning activities that will encourage the children to learn new skills.
I recently completed my level 3 childcare in education diploma and First Aid course which was very interesting and informative. If a child becomes unwell while under my care, my caring and warm nature will help comfort the child until their parents/carers can be with them.

I would very much like the opportunity to work as a childminder / Nannie for a lovely family. To help and watch the children grow and develop in to mature young adults.
