Marie, home childcare - DT7 Uplyme

I am currently working in a nursery looking after 0-5 year olds. Before that i spent 4 years doing seasonal work abroad in summer and ski destinations working with children in both a crèche and kids club. During my final ski season I took on the role of acting supervisor, which involved helping train the new team and taking a more active role in paperwork amongst other responsibilities.
I am a highly motivated person and like to set myself goals and challenges, both in a professional and personal manner, such as learning new skills to further my development in childcare or taking on a new hobby to keep myself busy. I am currently in completion of a British Sign Language course as I believe it is important to continually develop new skillsets that I can use in the workplace.

I pride myself in my ability to resolve issues and queries quickly and efficiently. As a result, I have received several awards for excellent customer service, and have always received the highest praises from both customers and management. One of my proudest accolaides has been coming second worldwide in the Thompson/First Choice service scores.

Beyond this, I am adaptable and quickly able to pick up on new skills. I always ensure each task is completed to a high standard and diligently pay attention to detail.
I enjoy working both in a team and an individual environment. I thrive in a position of leadership but I'm not afraid to ask for advice or share best practice when the situation requires it. This enables me to carry out my job proficiently and to the best of my ability.
In my spare time I like to be outdoors, partaking in activities such as climbing, horse riding, snowboarding and kayaking. I love involving myself in new hobbies that challenge me and enable me to acquire different skills.
