Hello!!
My name is Emily, I'm 26 and I'm a part time student. I am looking for fulfilling and rewarding work to fill up my extra time, and I think working with children is just that!
From a young age I was tasked with looking after younger relatives, and from the age of 15 I babysat for several families who lived in the village I grew up in. At the age of 17 I spent 6 months looking after 18 month old twins and their 4 year old sibling full time before furthering my education at Edinburgh University where I gained a degree in Psychology. Since graduating from there, I have been working full time in a hotel, whilst studying towards a second degree and also picking up babysitting work from time to time. Last year I spent 6 months looking after a family of 4 children (ages 1, 3, 5 and 10) who were staying in the hotel in which I work. For those 6 months, I worked from 5am until 2.30pm in the hotel and then stayed with the family from 3pm until 10pm. To say it was a challenging 6 months is an understatement, but I loved every minute of it and gained valuable experience.
I feel comfortable working with children of all ages, am willing to cook and clean if needed, and really just help out in any way I can. I am a positive, easy going, energetic person who loves to have fun and play games - I also love to incorporate learning into games, to make it fun and exciting for the kids! Whilst in my last year of high school I spent one morning a week doing work experience at my local primary school, and I think education is such an important part of every childhood.
