Sophie, home childcare - G52 Glasgow

My wide range of experience with children and young people makes me an ideal candidate for any position in childcare. I am great fun, approachable and very caring. I have the ability to cater for the educational, emotional and physical need of every child, whilst also creating a fun and stimulating environment by providing a wide range of play and learning activities. I especially love working with families and developing strong working relationships with parents.

I have recently left a role looking after 2 children, aged 7 and 10. I provided them with after school care and also looked after them during the school holidays. I cooked healthy meals for them every evening and also assisted them with their homework. I also kept them occupied them with fun, often craft related, activities and have built up affectionate and fun relationships with both children.

For a period in 2013, I worked as an after school nanny, taking care of 3 children, aged 1, 5 and 8 and have formed close bonds with all of them. This experience taught me how to best meet the needs and care for, young children.

I have also regularly babysat and provided school holiday care for a young girl, for a number of years. I developed a very strong relationship with her and her family members and believe I acted as a positive role model, providing her with valuable emotional support.

I also have an extensive range of voluntary experience with children.

In 2009 I taught English in a school in Vietnam. I have also spent some time teaching and caring for children in an orphanage in Kenya.

I have also volunteered as a group leader at a summer camp where my role was to care for a group of five teenage girls. I was responsible for their general well being, ensuring that they got the most out of the experience.
