Lesley, home childcare in Birmingham B16

My name is Lesley I am a mature lady who has worked in childcare since leaving school, my roles have been varied ranging from day care settings to residential mother and baby home also including two years working within the NHS teaching new mothers parenting skills.
The children come from a variety of different backgrounds and some have additional needs to which I have worked and supported them in the setting of their goals, I have completed the ‘Makaton’ training to support children with hearing impairments and communication difficulties and have worked alongside the ‘Senco’ and other professional agencies to meet the needs of individual children, which could include speech and language therapy, physiotherapy and offering emotional support, educational and parenting advice to mothers, supporting many families and gaining a wealth of experience.

I am able to adapt to different roles and responsibilities, in my present employment I am a named person, which includes being responsible for the welfare and training of the staff and the security and running of the whole nursery. I am able to use my own initiative with a flexible approach to work and can demonstrate a commitment to work, which will be reflected, in my references.
