Kelly, home childcare in Brighton

Hello,

My name is Kelly and I have been working with children for more then 13 years as a qualified practitioner, (or including training more then 15 years). I have had a variety of experiences such as working in nurseries as a nursery nurse, as a room leader and as a senior. Also I have been a nanny for a few families. My most recent job was a nanny share where I worked for two families, sometimes in one home and sometimes in the other. The boys were aged 1 and 2, sometimes I would have the boys separately and sometimes at the same time. I planned activities for them, play dates, cooked fresh meals and provided activities in the home too. I think it is important to get to know each child and what they are interested in so you can plan activities around this. I'm always talking (or singing :) ) to the children because it helps them learn while playing as it's the best way they take it all in. I also think it is important that the children feel safe and secure with whoever is looking after them. I like to take the children to the park, play football, go on nature walks, to play groups, swimming, to the library, to museums and many other things too. At home we do creative activities, messy activities, dancing, playing with instruments, making playdough and cooking too.

I keep diaries of the children's days, such as activities, how they have been, what they have eaten, how they have slept and what nappy changes they have had. Usually I will send an email to the parents around lunch time to give them an update of the day so far.

The reason I left my last job is because I am moving to Brighton in September, I am available to start from 15th September. I am still in contact with all previous nanny jobs so can pass on details for references if requested.
