Hello, I'm Anna, I am currently 24 years of age and am situated in Herne Bay, Kent.
I am a positive, caring, sensible and responsible individual who is looking to continue my love of looking after and caring for young children in surrounding areas in Kent. Preferably a full-time position would be ideal, however I would be available to be flexible with part-time hours or babysitting if required.
To give an idea of the current past few years of experience in the childcare field; I have spent the last five years living in London as I moved up to study at the University of Roehampton to study Education combined with Early Childhood Studies.
During my time studying at degree level, I taught in a number of Primary Schools during my placements in the London area. My placements and liaising with parents and teachers proved great opportunities to build upon my organisational skills by completing and carrying out lesson plans, general classroom duties and the attending of staff meetings. I have been able to develop my knowledge and understanding of the education system, the workplace as well as building upon my confidence levels with carrying out tasks, which have helped me to become a capable, confident and patient individual whilst being able to adapt to varying situations and workplace challenges and pressures. During my time as a Year 1, I was given the opportunity to work individually with children who experience learning difficulties outside of the classroom environment on a one to one basis. My time spent teaching and supporting the children proved an invaluable expensive and really aided my understanding of various learning difficulties and how to help to remove certain learning barriers with adaptations of work tasks and expectations. Due to personal reasons, I unfortunately did not complete my degree due to the incompletion of some of my last year module assessment tasks. I do however believe that these years studying and independent living in London have had a positive and large impact upon my personal attributes and interpersonal skills.
Alongside my studies, I worked in part-time role as a Nanny with the Family in living in the Barnes area of South West London.
My role was to support the families needs and to take sole care for a young boy, aged 7 whilst his Parents were working full-time.
The tasks included collecting him from his School in Central London, liaising with his School Teachers, taking him to his extra-curricular classes and sports groups outside of School time, cooking for Thomas and helping him to complete Homework tasks and set reading. During the Summer months, we travelled around London and I organised many day trips to explore what the City had to offer and to try to encourage him to take part in activities out of his comfort zone giving him the ability to excel in his confidence and independence. I really cherished my time working for the Family and with the young boy.
Also alongside my studying, I worked part-time to support a young Adult who had learning disabilities and her Family in London.
I accompanied the lady with outdoor activities, trips and meet ups with her friends. This allowed her to become more independent and to be able to fulfil her needs and wishes. During her time spent in her Family home, I would support her with activities such as baking, cooking, laundry and playing games.
I have taken part and passed a day training course in 'Emergency First Aid' and feel that I would be competent in handling a situation that needed emergency help and care.
