Jasmin, home childcare in Lowestoft

I have 5 + years of experiance with working with children and also have children in my family i care for i am currently a practitioner at a preschool and undertake many responsibilities such as being responsible for the health, care, support, guidance, safety of each child and adult in the session. I am the Health and Safety Officer of the pre-school and complete all the necessary risk assessments such a the daily risk assessment tick sheet and activity Risks assements are also completed it is the upmost importance that all staff follows the procedures for this role, this includes attending relevant courses such as health and safety, Paediatric First Aid course (12 hours), Food Hygiene Course, and Safeguarding, (Picking up and dropping off - correct password check is checked regularly), which I have recently completed. First Aid - making sure the first aid kits have everything they need. This includes checking children's medication and completing health care forms if required. My role also entails, the checking of the cleaning products we have and making sure all COSHH sheets are up to date and have been checked and read by each member of staff, checking the fridge and room temperatures are being recorded, and the snack is put away including utensils that have been used that they are washed and removed from the setting. All policies and procedures have been read signed and are being accurately followed. I am a key person of 8 children, which includes following the EYFS framework completing each child's individual learning journey, I have experience of working alongside the SENCO of the setting as I currently have a child with SEN that I am working closely with which means having a parent/ carer relationship with me is of the upmost importance, undertake many observations an wide variety depending on what is being observed. Planning and implementing next steps for my key children. Each week as a setting we rotate on who is completing the planning for the week, so I have experience in that area, to providing a stimulating environment for the children by the use of many activities under each area of the EYFS.

Accomplishments
As stated above I am now the Health and Safety Officer , and thoroughly enjoy my role. I have currently completed my Level 4 FDA in Childcare at Lowestoft Campus Suffolk, and going onto further training starting my Level 5 Degree in September 2015. I very much however would like to learn SENCO role.
