My name is Kate and I am a mum and a part-time teacher.
I am finding that arranging term time child care, for my 10 year old (and dog!), is a continuing challenge and I am looking for more creative ways to solve this. Ideally I would like to be able to offer child care to run alongside my own.
I wish to make my time more flexible by using my experience as a mum and teacher to help look after other people's children and solve those 'tricky to manage' times. After 25 years teaching in Primary Schools I increasingly miss the 'personal, child centred time' that the new curriculum is phasing out. So I am looking forward to some 'fun' child time.
I can offer many things in care time as I have a wide variety of interests as well as a child friendly dog to make a fuss of if you don't have any pets. I have worked as an artist, I am a keen crafter and am a trained Nordic Walking instructor. I love being outside and many years ago worked in a conservation centre so enjoy taking children out and about - not to mention helping with homework or early learning.
At present I am working Monday to Friday but for the right work I would be willing to reduce those days.
I have a paediatric first aid certificate and am CRB checked.
