Danell, home childcare - PL21 Ivybridge

My name is Danell and I am 20 years old. I live with my mom Mari and dad Rhoshein and our dog named Sushi in Plymouth. I am the eldest and have 2 brothers that lives in Australia (Ryan 19 and Justin 16).
We are all scattered around the world, but see each other on a regular basis.
My parents emigrated from South Africa about a year and a half ago I followed shortly after, we decided that moving to England would give us a better future and more opportunities.

I would describe myself as a reliable, friendly and caring person who tries to make the best out of every situation. I have an open mind and am always willing to learn. I like spending time with my friends, they are as well as my family very important to me. They are always trying to help and be there for me.

In my spare time I like to go for walks along the woods with Sushi or just to sit and admire the beauty around me. We have beautiful beaches and I have recently learned how to surf and body board.
Furthermore, I enjoy reading, anything and everything. I have a whole collection a books from charity shops. You will always find me singing, even though I can’t.
I use to dance and do Ariel skills, but there is just not enough time in one day for work, studies, exercise and sports.

At the moment I am working for a lovely family with four children between the ages of 2 and 8 years. (I am keeping my options open) I also study Childhood Studies here in Plymouth, but
would like continue my studies, just online for the next 3 years.

I have worked with children from the age of 14, I started with babysitting and when I was 17 I started working in a nursery after school where I helped out in the baby class, all voluntarily.
My first real job was at a Nursery in Littleton where I worked as an Aftercare teacher where I had 31 children in my class.
I then decided to rather be an au pair and I started working for a family with 3 little girls, I started working there when the twins were 3 months old and the eldest sister 2 years. I then finished my year and then left the country.
Through this time I have found out how much fun it is to have children around and see them develop into beautiful human beings, I cant imagine a life without them.

I have always had a special place in my heart for children, since I was in pre school I could be found in the baby class trying to help change diapers and feed other children.
I have never had to think about what I want to do after school, I knew I wanted to work with children and I have decided to study Childhood Studies and then after that study further to become an Occupational Therapist.
I would like to one day open my own practise where I would combine my Occupational Therapy and Physiology.
